On 23 March, a groundbreaking ceremony was held in Luang Prabang for The Project for the Expansion of Water Supply System in Luang Prabang City, for which Nihon Suido Consultants (NSC) provides consulting services, with the participation of the Minister of Public Works and Transport of the Lao PDR, the Governor of Luang Prabang Province, the Japanese Ambassador to the Lao PDR, and the Director of JICA Laos Office. The groundbreaking ceremony was reported in local news and newspapers, and Lao officials have high expectations for the project.

This project aims to improve the water supply capacity of Luang Prabang City by expanding and renewing the water treatment plant and water transmission and distribution facilities.

So far, NSC has conducted outline design, detailed design, and bidding assistance for this project, and will provide construction supervision and technical guidance on operation and maintenance to local staff during the next two years of construction.
