Nihon Suido Consultants Receives Contract for Kabutoyama Water Purification Plant Redevelopment and New Purification Plant Construction Project, Starts Work

Nihon Suido Consultants Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: NAKANISHI Shinji), a member of the Taisei-Hamada-Kubota-Toshiba-Nissuicon Design and Construction Joint Venture, has signed a contract with the City of Himeji, Hyogo Prefecture, for the Kabutoyama Water Purification Plant Redevelopment and New Purification Plant Construction Project (“the Project”), on which it began work on April 12, 2025.

Background and Project Features

  • The Kabutoyama Water Purification Plant, a core facility in Himeji’s waterworks system, has been in operation since 1970. After more than 50 years, aging infrastructure and lack of earthquake resistance have become pressing issues for the facility.
  • The Project will help achieve the goal of resilience as set forth in the City of Himeji’s Waterworks Vision, which also includes the goals of safety and sustainability.
  • In addition to improving earthquake resistance and enhancing crisis management capabilities at the plant, the Project will ensure safety by providing a stable and secure water supply to the Himeji area and promote sustainability through operational efficiency improvements in the city’s waterworks operations.
