Apology and Notice Concerning Possible Partial Leakage of Personal Information

Nihon Suido Consultants Co, Ltd. has confirmed that unauthorized access to our corporate website (“our website”) may have resulted in the leakage of some personal information. We are pleased to announce that we have completed the investigation of this matter, which was conducted with the cooperation of an external specialized agency
and, at this time, no unauthorized use of personal information related to this matter has been confirmed.
We deeply apologize for the inconvenience and concern this may cause to our customers and other concerned parties.

1. Sequence of Events

(1) January 28, 2024

Due to the discovery of unauthorized access to our website, we shut down our website on the same day, and reported the matter to and consulted with an external specialized agency. Subsequently, we set up an in-house emergency task force, reported the situation to the police and other relevant agencies, and requested the matter be investigated by an external specialized agency.

(2) February 8 and 22, 2024

Notices regarding this matter were posted on our website.

(3) March 14, 2024

As a result of our investigation, we have confirmed that the personal information entered in the inquiry form on our website has been preserved. No leakage of personal information has been confirmed to date, and we have not received any reports of secondary damage.
Since then, the Company has been implementing measures such as recurrence prevention, based on advice from an external specialized agency.

2. Personal Information That May Have Been Leaked Externally

There is a possibility that personal information entered in the inquiry form on our website may have been leaked to outside parties.

(2) Affected customers

Customers who filled out the inquiry form on our website between October 2016 and January 2024.

3. Cause

It is believed that the hacker stole login accounts and passwords by attempting to access the test environment for operational verification, and then gained access to the production environment for public use. We have confirmed that this unauthorized access caused a large volume of e-mails to be sent from our website and web pages to be altered.

4. Future Response

We take this unauthorized access of our website very seriously, and we will strengthen our security system and make concerted efforts to prevent a recurrence.

We once again apologize for the inconvenience and concern this incident has caused to our affected customers and all other concerned parties.
