On June 28, 2024, Mizumusubi Management Miyagi Co., Ltd., a special-purpose company in the “Miyagi Prefecture integrated public-private partnership operation project for water supply, industrial water supply and sewerage,” in which Nihon Suido Consultants Co., Ltd. participates, received the “Minister’s Award (Category A: category of cases commercialized by a local government with a population of 200,000 or more, or by the national government)” jointly with the Miyagi Prefectural Bureau of Enterprises at the 1st PPP/PFI Project Excellence Awards* organized by the Cabinet Office. This award is given to projects with particularly outstanding achievements that serve as models for others.

In awarding the prize, the project was recognized as a leading example of a cross-sector, multi-facility water PPP in which multiple water treatment plants and other facilities are operated in an integrated manner, particularly from the following perspectives.

• To consolidate information related to business management, maintenance, and renovation using digital technology, and to conduct efficient operation management, maintenance, inspection, monitoring and other tasks
• To realize cost savings of 33.7 billion yen by establishing a 20-year management right, as well as to improve the level of public services such as lowering water rates, and to lessen the environmental burden through decarbonization, etc.
• To contribute to the local economy by employing a large number of local personnel in the establishment of a company that supports the local water infrastructure and by involving local companies as SPC constituent companies

We will continue our efforts to put in place a better infrastructure environment through PPP/PFI projects in order to help realize “a prosperous and sustainable future society.”
