Sustainability
Coexistence With Nature
Through the development and operation of water infrastructure, Nihon Suido Consultants contributes to the conservation and restoration of the water environment and supports the creation of an environment where nature and humans can coexist in harmony. In addition to utilizing renewable energy and restoring the natural beauty of rivers and streams in our business activities, we are also actively engaged in activities in partnership with local communities.
Effective Use of Sewage Sludge
Development of Fertilizers Using Sewage Sludge and Local Biomass Waste
In cooperation with the National Institute of Technology, Kagoshima College and others, we are working to develop a new fertilizer made from sewage sludge generated from sewage treatment facilities and local biomass such as shochu spirit distillery by-product, rice bran, and bamboo. Since this fertilizer has the same level of effectiveness as rapeseed oil meal and other organic fertilizers for tea cultivation, plans are underway to commercialize it to ensure a stable supply. The research in this development received an award at the “49th Environmental Awards.”

Promoting Agricultural Use of Sewage-Derived Fertilizers
We provide support and conduct public relations activities related to the distribution and sale of “Junkan sodachi” - crops grown with fertilizer derived from sewage sludge. In the Tokachi region of Hokkaido, the “Tokachi Bistro Sewerage Project” was established with local farming corporations to plan and run various events.

Natural Regeneration of Rivers and Streams
While engaging in nature restoration projects to revitalize the local natural environment by actively restoring nature damaged in the past, we are striving to create a society that coexists in harmony with nature by safeguarding biological diversity.
Contributing to Nature Restoration in the Middle Reaches of the Arakawa River
The Arakawa Tarouemon Area Nature Restoration Project, in which we have been involved since 2010, is a nature restoration project based on the Law for the Promotion of Nature Restoration, and was the first project in Japan to establish a nature restoration council. We have been involved in supporting the running of this council and expanding the circle of activities with local residents.
